Jason joined the Royal Australian Air Force in 1992. He served as a F/A-18 fighter pilot with No. 77 Squadron, and subsequently as a Qualified Flying Instructor on the Hawk-127.

Appointed as the No. 76 Squadron Operations Flight Commander in 2005, Jason was responsible for leading and developing Australia's next generation of fighter and strike pilots.  He retired from the RAAF in 2007 holding the rank of Squadron Leader.

Jason presently commands Airbus A330 and A350 aircraft for a major international airline; several times each month, he leads new teams from a wide variety of language and cultural backgrounds on airline operations spanning the globe. 

Jason holds a BSc (Mathematics), an AdvDip Personnel and Operations Management and an AdvDip Aviation, and is a qualified organisational coach.
